This is a new group, which has developed from Discovering Wessex,
to accommodate the additional demand.

We follow a similar format, whereby each member of the group takes a turn to choose a place or location, carry out some research on their choice and to share this with the group on our “in” weeks. This is then followed up by a visit to that place on the following week.

Types of places and themes are varied and we stay primarily in Dorset but will also venture out to the Hampshire/Wiltshire borders.
A group sometimes has the advantage of entry to places not always open to the public.

We meet on Wednesday mornings and alternate with the Discovering Wessex group so one week is “in” at the Town Hall and one week will be “out” at the chosen venue.

The “out” days are active days, risking the weather and can stretch into the afternoon.
These are also social days, where we find a modest place for lunch together on our travels.

Mobility and acceptance of some admission charges are required.

As a new group, we would welcome new members.
