Wimborne U3A

New Zealand for Travellers Monday afternoon, 1:30 to 3:00 5 weeks, starting 16th April CLARC, King Street Contact the leader

It’s a long way to New Zealand and not exactly cheap to get there so it’s important to get as much as possible from what for many people will be their only visit. It’s also a big country with so much to see and do on all three islands, so it’s vital to plan carefully and be realistic about what is possible in the time you have

Available.

This five week course will include sessions on:

• What to see and do on the South Island (Te Waipounamu), North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui) and Stewart Island (Rakiura);

• Daily life in NZ e.g. driving rules, humour, slang, wine, beer, shopping, prices;

• NZ geography, history, Maori culture;

• Distances - planning an itinerary and being realistic.

Even if you have already been to NZ, or are not planning to go for a while, these sessions aim to be informative, light hearted, informal, and chock full of stunning images and sounds.
