Fragrant Orchid

The Nature Walks group meets at a variety of local areas on different days for about two hours in the morning,
afternoon or evening.

Nature walks were limited after June due to holidays and the Leader’s incapacity but those which took place were enjoyed by all.

In March the group held a picnic at Stonehill Down and in May a sheltered wood walk at Ashley Wood, near Blandford.

Other visits have been hedge surveys at Pamphill and Badbury Rings, walks at Canford Heath, Canford Magna and Cowgrove.

A variety of birds and plants were seen but very few butterflies.
