Canasta is a card game which was popular as a social activity
in the pre - TV era.

It can be played with 2, 3 or 4 players.
When there are 4, play is with a partner.

There are not many rules and beginners quickly learn.
The games usually take about two hours to complete.
Luck plays a large part but tactics can be useful.

It is played for fun; helps to keep the brain active and to get to know
more people.
Frequency of meeting depends on the host and individual group.

Evening meetings are more usual in the Summer term and can continue in the Summer break.
Canasta: Monday afternoon
