Badminton: Monday and Wednesday afternoon, Colehill Memorial Hall, Cannon Hill Road, Colehill.
Back to:  Activities   Programme
This is a fun group to enjoy and improve and never be too serious.
Bearing in mind the physical nature of this activity, it is advisable to wear appropriate shoes (plimsolls or light trainers) and clothing such as a tracksuit and T-shirt.

There are two badminton groups meeting each week, one on Mondays and one on Wednesdays.

Each group has a mixed range of ability from absolute beginners to
experienced players.

The emphasis is on enjoying an afternoon of sociable activity to improve fitness interspersed with tea and a chat.
New players of all standards welcome.

Racquets available.
BADDERS

Mary and Mike started this Group
Intending to play badminton - well THAT’S a hoot!
We meet every Monday at two,
Well what else is there for ‘mature’ people to do?
Growing old disgracefully seems to be our aim,
That’s why we like to win each ‘exciting’ game!

We jump and run and prance around,
Our feet, sometimes, hardly touch the ground.
The boys (cough) of course are really good,
I wish I could play like them, I wish I could!
We never know if the shuttle’s in or out,
We’re too busy chatting to remember to shout,

But Barry’s always there to keep the score,
However, we sometimes think we’ve got more.
We laugh a lot which can’t be bad
But it’s mostly at MY expense which is really sad.
Graham insults me almost every week
Of what he says I can hardly speak.

I have to leave for the Home at 4
‘Cos after that Matron locks the door.
The others stay until 5
(I think they’re just trying to prove they’re still alive!)
I really enjoy my weekly game
And I honestly think we all feel the same.
